INSCAPE FEES

Inscape Education Group fees are made up of the, Tuition Fees and Compulsory Study Pack fees. The combination of these two fees are referred to as the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE.

The Registration Fee is payable on application. The fee enables the processing of the application and secures a place at Inscape on provisional acceptance of the applicant. The following terms and conditions apply:

  • If the applicant is accepted and enrols with the institution, the Registration Fee is credited to the student account and is therefore deducted from the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE.
  • If the applicant is accepted and does NOT enrol with the institution, the Registration Fee is forfeited by the individual and will NOT be refunded.
  • If the applicant is NOT accepted by the institution, the Registration Fee is refunded to the applicant in full. A Refund Application Form must be completed by the applicant.

Tuition Fees are typically charged by education institutions and should include; lecturer fees, lab or studio fees (the use of a venue), courseware including briefs or assignments, a student card, parking in some instances, wifi, access to libraries and additional resources.

The Compulsory Study Pack is an Inscape initiative that ensures learning happens from day one. All students have access to quality products that are legally licensed and current. Inscape has established strong relationships with suppliers and can therefore negotiate good pricing on behalf of the students. All equipment received remains the property of the student even after they have completed their studies at Inscape. Software licenses are renewed annually for the period of enrolment at the institution. All items included in the pack are required by the programme as part of the learning process. The packs are reviewed annually to determine continued relevance of each item. The provision of the Compulsory Study Pack by the institution not only provides convenience to you the student who would need to otherwise source the items independently but more importantly provides you with the ability to be in control of your learning at all times even when you are not on campus.

STUDY PACK OPTIONS

Compulsory Study Packs include the option to receive the pack including or excluding a device (laptop or Macbook). When a student chooses to exclude a device, they are required to ‘bring your own device’ (BYOD). The device must meet the minimum specification requirements for the chosen qualification. The student is required to complete a Right of Use Agreement for the institution to provide relevant software, manage and maintain the device. A cost will be levied for this purpose.

The Bachelor of Design programme includes 4 packages to assist students in accessing quality higher education whilst receiving a device that they can afford. These packages are referred to as The Booster Package, The Standard Package, The Entry Level Package and The BYOD Package respectively. The packages are differentiated by device choices of varying quality and cost. The Entry Level Package is the absolute minimum requirements needed for this programme.

ENROLMENT PERIODS

The TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is calculated in advance and is published each year on the 1st March for the following academic year. This allows you time to plan and secure the necessary funds to access us as your chosen institution. Our enrolment periods are detailed below. By making a minimum of 20% of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE you will secure your enrolment for the following academic year. Payments received by the 31st December 2017 (Standard Enrolment) will receive a 2% discount and payments received by 30th September 2017 (Early Bird Enrolment) will receive an 8% discount. UPFRONT PAYMENTS:
An upfront payment is made of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE (including Tuition Fee and Compulsory Study Pack Fee).

QUARTERLY PAYMENTS:
A 20% Enrolment Fee of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is payable in full to secure your enrolment at the institution. The remaining 80% of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is payable via debit order, credit card or EFT payments in 4 payments payable on the last working day of January, April, July and September. A 2% levy of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is charged for quarterly payments.

DEBIT ORDER/CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS:
A 20% Enrolment Fee of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is payable in full to secure your enrolment at the institution. The remaining 80% of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is payable via debit order or credit card payments over 11months, January to November (applicable to Early Bird and Standard Enrolments) and over 10 months, February to November (applicable to Late Enrolments). A 4% levy of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is charged for arranged debit order and credit card payments

EFT PAYMENTS
A 20% Enrolment Fee of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is payable in full to secure your enrolment at the institution. The remaining 80% of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is payable via EFT over 11months, January to November (applicable to Early Bird and Standard Enrolments) and over 10 months, February to November (applicable to Late Enrolments). A 6% levy of the TOTAL ANNUAL FEE is charged for the EFT payment option.

HOW DO I APPLY

Applications are made online by clicking on ‘enrol now’ from Inscape’s website at www.inscape.ac.za.

The enrolment fee is payable upfront and all documents need to be submitted to ensure your enrolment is completed by the deadline date stipulated.

Contract of Enrolment (signed by the Account payer)
Proof of payment of registration and enrolment fees
Debit order/credit card instructions
Copy of student’s Identity Document
Certified copy of Account Payer’s Identity Document
Proof of study visa for International students
Student Indemnity and Medical Condition form
Plagiarism declaration completed
Account payer’ ‘Proof of residence’ (not older than 3 months)
Bank confirmation letter confirming account details

SPECIAL ADMISSIONS:
Mature age exemptions
Students can apply for mature age exemption to Degrees, Diplomas and Higher Certificates as per USAf (Universities South Africa formerly known as HESA (Higher Education South Africa)) requirements.
Mature age exemption is considered on individual application.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)/credit accumulation transfer (CAT)
Students may be admitted via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/Credit Accumulation transfer (CAT).
** Please note: all CAT applications need to be considered before the said modules commence.

International Students
For admission to Higher Certificate: South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluation of National Senior Certificate NQF4 equivalence.
For admissions to Bachelor’s Degree: Universities South Africa (USAf) formerly known as Higher Education South Africa (HESA) complete or conditional exemption certificate.
A study permit in the name of Inscape Education Group is valid for the duration of the chosen course.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I understand and accept that the following conditions apply:

1. ENROLMENT AND FEES
1.1 I understand that I can only complete one application for enrolment. If I submit an online application as well as a paper based contract of
enrolment, my online application supersedes the paper based contract of enrolment.
I am liable for the full amount of this contract.
If I cancel the contract before registration week, I will be held liable for the registration fee and full enrolment fee.
If I cancel the contract after registration week, I will be held liable for the registration fee, full enrolment fee plus a fee for the non-returnable equipment, as well as a fee for the tuition received to date on cancellation;
I need to pay the registration fee OR the full enrolment fee within two weeks of receiving my Acceptance Letter and Contract
of Enrolment in order to secure my place at Inscape Education Group. I understand that should I complete the enrolment; the registration fee will be credited to my account.
1.6 The proof of payment of the registration fee or full enrolment fee, including all required documentation, must be submitted
before the applicable enrolment period to reserve my place.
1.7 If payment of the enrolment fee is not received by applicable enrolment period the contract is cancelled and the enrolment becomes null and void.
1.8 Any accounts outstanding for more than 30 days will be seen as a breach of contract and will be charged with a R330 administration fee. If the
amount remains outstanding for more than 60 days I will be charged an additional R330 administration fee per month for every month that the
amount remains outstanding;
1.9 In the event that fees are overdue for one month, Inscape Education Group reserves the right to suspend my (the student’s) tuition without
prejudice to its own rights. This includes but is not limited to access to the campus, teaching and learning, progress reports, access to the online
learner management system, suspension of licenses (software, online research subscriptions) and access to Wifi on site;
1.10 Terms and conditions referred to on the Debit Order/Credit Card authority form apply;
1.11 Successful graduation from any year is dependent, inter alia, on the fees for that year having been paid in full;
1.12 In the event of any legal action being instituted against me by Inscape Education Group, I undertake to pay all legal costs, including collection
fees, legal costs on an attorney and client scale and tracing fees;
1.13 Our programmes are quality assured and standardised across all Inscape campuses nationally. You can enrol for our Bachelor of Design
programme at any campus to complete your 1st year. Students who are accepted into certain degree specialisation programmes might be
required to complete their second and third year studies at another Inscape campus offering the specified specialisation;
1.14 Final specialisation choices are to be completed by the commencement of Semester 2 for the subsequent year of study. This enables the
institution to plan accordingly.
1.15 All Inscape Education Group programmes run subject to availability on specific campuses and subject to demand;
1.16 All goods included in the enrolment fee will be received on Registration Day or thereafter at Inscape Education Group’s discretion;
1.17 Limited access controlled parking is available at selected campuses on a first come first serve basis and subject to availability;

2. FIDELITY GUARANTEE as required by the Department of Higher Education and Training
2.1 “In the event of Inscape Education Group (the company) not being able to meet its commitments to students as result of the liquidation of the
company, students will, in the event of their claims against the company not being fully recovered, have the right to request the said liquidator to
claim any shortfall from the financial institution which has provided a guarantee to beneficiaries to cover such an eventuality, provided that the
total amount claimable from such institution will not exceed the total amount of the guarantee. Should the total of such unrecoverable claims
exceed the total amount of the guarantee then the total amount claimed by beneficiaries in terms of the said guarantee will be pro-rated amongst
the beneficiaries who submitted claims”

3. STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
3.1 I agree to abide by the Inscape Education Group’s Code of Conduct for students (as revised or amended from time to time), which is displayed in
a public place.
3.2 I understand that one of the primary purposes of Inscape programmes is to prepare students to succeed in a tough, adult world and that students
choose to study at Inscape for this reason. I therefore declare that to the best of my knowledge, that;
3.3.1 I am prepared physically, mentally and emotionally to commence a challenging and rigorous programme;
3.3.2 Should my physical, mental or emotional ability be compromised for whatever reason that I will immediately inform the institution in
writing;
3.3 To ensure my academic progress, the institution facilitates my learning and that I am responsible for engaging in the learning. I understand and
accept that;
3.3.1 All lecture sessions and presentations must be attended. Students who arrive late may not be permitted to enter as it is disruptive for both
the class and the lecturer. Students who are late for, or do not attend classes or presentations may be penalised;
3.3.2 Lecturers are not trainers; the students’ responsibility is to learn and the lecturers’, to facilitate their learning;
3.3.3 Every assignment must be submitted. Assignments that are not submitted, complete and on time, or have not been submitted following
the procedures, will not be assessed;
3.3.4 Students’ unfortunate circumstances, given as reasons for not attending lectures or submitting assignments, cannot be accommodated;
3.3.5 Inscape may treat (even minor) non-compliance or infringements or misdemeanors strictly and firmly; plagiarism is cause for expulsion;
3.3.6 Some situations may appear to be unfair and students will not always understand the well-considered reasons for the institutions rules,
instructions and decisions;
3.3.7 Students must achieve the minimum requirements to progress to a subsequent year of study or graduate;
3.3.8 Socially inappropriate behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated;
3.3.9 If a student has a complaint, s/he must handle it in accordance with the institutions grievance policy. Only if it is not resolved satisfactorily,
may the parent or guardian or spouse or account payer intervene;
Payment of fees does not entitle the account-payer or student to make demands on the institution;

4. INDEMNIFICATION
4.1 I will indemnify Inscape Education Group and hold it harmless from and against all claims, actions, damages, liability and expense in connection
with loss of life, personal injury and/ or damage to my property arising from or out of any occurrence in, upon, or at its premises, or the use
by myself of the Campus premises or any part thereof, or occasioned wholly or in part by any act or omission of Inscape Education Group, its
officers, employees, agents, concessionaires, suppliers, contractors or customers.
4.2 In case Inscape Education Group shall, without fault on its part, be made a party to any litigation commenced by or against me then I shall
indemnify Inscape Education Group and hold it harmless against all claims and shall pay all costs, expenses and legal fees (including Attorney and
client fees) reasonably incurred or paid by Inscape Education Group in connection with such litigation.
4.3 I agree that this document and its attachments constitutes the entire contract. Unless it is reduced to writing and signed by both parties, no oral
agreement shall be binding on either party.

5. SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS:
5.1 Applicable to Degree, Diploma and Higher Certificate students only, enrolling for first year in 2018.
5.2 Applicable to contact (attend lectures at a national Inscape campus) mode of studies ONLY.
5.3 All participants must be eligible to study a Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Higher Certificate in 2018 (as per their National Senior Certificate).
5.4 Entrants must be able to start studying at one of the national Inscape campuses in 2018.
5.5 Applications are open to South African and non-South African citizens.
5.6 Non-South African citizens must produce a study permit in the name of Inscape Education Group which is valid for the full duration of the
chosen course.
5.7 Non-South African students need to process their own study visa applications as well as all equivalency and exemption certificates required for
application to the institution through SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) and USaf (Universities South Africa).
5.8 In the case where a partial scholarship is awarded, Non-South African citizens must either pay the remainder of the fees in full (As per DHET
requirements) or provide proof that the account payer is a South African Citizen and has a South African bank account.
5.9 Scholarship candidates must complete their studies in no more than 3 years for the Bachelor of Design Degree and Diploma courses. Higher
certificate students have one year to complete their studies.
5.10 Scholarship students’ must submit their National Senior Certificate to Inscape once they have received it.
5.11 Should the students not have met the minimum requirements for entrance into the programme applied for, the student will forfeit their
scholarship.
5.12 Inscape Education Group will award partial or full scholarships to selected students and this will include the provision of the study pack,
MacBook/Laptop option (as per the programme applied for) as well as all insurances on devices. The devices remain the property of Inscape
Education Group (Pty) Ltd.
Scholarship students are held accountable for the study pack and equipment that Inscape has provided to them. Equipment must be looked
after and maintained.
5.14 If negligence is proven upon return of the equipment the student will be held liable to replace the equipment provided by Inscape Education
Group.
5.15 Scholarship students who receive partial scholarships are expected to ensure that their fees are up to date and communicate any problems that
may arise through the right channels following the correct procedures.
5.16 Partial scholarship students who drop out, will be held liable pro rata for the tuition received to date. They will also be required to return the
MacBook/Laptop, A5 wacom tablet, software and textbooks issued to them by Inscape Education Group.
5.17 Should beneficiaries who have been awarded 100% scholarships, fail or drop out of the program, they will be required to return the MacBook/
Laptop, A5 Wacom tablet, software and textbooks issued to them by Inscape Education Group.
5.18 The scholarship funds are non-transferable and beneficiaries chosen are final and subject to Inscapes discretion.
5.19 Upon successful completion of the programme, scholarship students will also be required to return the MacBook/Laptop, A5 Wacom tablet and
software issued to them by Inscape Education Group.
5.20 Scholarship funds exclude monthly consumables, transport, parking fees, admin fees, transfer or resubmission fees and accommodation.
5.21 Consideration for continuation on the scholarship program, the awarded students must meet the minimum promotion requirements of 1st and
2nd year (applicable to Degree and Diploma entries)
5.22 Scholarship students are Inscape ambassadors and as such are required to act in an acceptable manner. This includes but is not limited to
passing all modules, submitting assignments by the required deadlines, class punctuality and acceptable attendance of lectures presented (as
per Inscape Policies and Procedures)
5.23 As Inscape ambassador’s, scholarship students will also be expected to get involved with institutional and promotional activities on campus.
5.24 Scholarship students are expected to act in line with Inscape’s Policies and Procedures as well as the student’s code of conduct laid out in the
institutional handbook.
5.25 Should the student not comply with the rules & regulations above and adhere to Inscape Education Groups Student Code of Conduct as well as
Policies and Procedures the scholarship will be withdrawn and all cancellation policies apply.

6. FINANCIALLY ASSISTED STUDENTS
6.1 Financial Assistance may be considered by the institution for current students, by application only.
6.2 Applicants must have an average academic mark of at least 60% and 80% attendance for the past year.
6.3 Financial Assistance excludes monthly consumables, transport, parking fees, accommodation and any other additional fees such as late
submission fees, deferment fees, transfer fees and the like.
6.4 The financial assistance is non-transferable.
6.5 Should financial assistance be granted, the agreement will be for the current academic year applied for and continuing financial assistance
is dependent on the academic performance and student conduct evaluations at the end of each term and is granted at the discretion of the
Inscape Board of Directors.
6.6 Should the student not comply with the rules & regulations as per the above or adhere to Inscape Education Groups Student Code of Conduct
and Policies and Procedures the financial assistance will be withdrawn and the student will be held liable for the tuition fees received to date (in
the case of partial financial assistance) as well as a fee for the study pack provided

7. ADDITIONAL 2ND & 3RD YEARS FEES
7.1 Should a current 2nd or 3rd year student discontinue their studies with the institution, they will be charged a fee pro rata to the month’s tuition
received plus a fee for the study pack issued relevant to the year and programme enrolled for (refer to the fees publically displayed on the
website).

CANCELATION POLICY

I understand and accept that the following conditions apply:

Should a current 2nd or 3rd year student discontinue their studies with the institution, they will be charged a fee pro rata to the month’s tuition received plus a fee for the study pack issued relevant to the year and programme enrolled for.

Accessibility to education is of the utmost importance to Inscape Education Group and widening access forms part of our unique thinking approach to education.

Inscape provides study scholarships through annual Marketing efforts and collaborations to disadvantaged learners who show academic excellence, yet do not have the financial resources to pursue their studies in Higher Education. Students are able to apply for study scholarships into any of our accredited Degree, Diploma or Higher certificate programmes. Our Scholarship program is launched annually on the 1st of October and open to applications until the 31st of October in the same year for use in the next academic year.
